CRNA - Anesthesia

Experience: Minimum of 1 year required by the time of credentialing

License: Must be licensed as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist

Must-Have:
  • Must have 1 year experience in a relevant clinical setting

    Provider must be able to independently manage anesthesia care
Description:
  • Assess, prepare, and manage patients for anesthesia care in the perioperative/procedural period.
  • Develop and implement an anesthetic plan.
  • Perform history and physical examinations.
  • Obtain informed consent.
  • Conduct pre-anesthetic evaluations and post-operative assessments.
  • Administration of general anesthesia, regional anesthesia, epidural anesthesia, spinal anesthesia, IV regional block, and monitored anesthesia care.
  • Invasive monitoring and placement including CVP/CVC, pulmonary artery catheterization, and intra-arterial lines.
  • Effective airway management skills required.
  • Experience with a range of surgical specialties including general, orthopedics, trauma, plastics, neurosurgery, pediatrics (ages 5 and up), endoscopy, robotic surgery, gynecology, and ENT.
  • No experience required in hearts or obstetrical anesthesia.
  • The position involves medical direction with a CRNA/anesthesiologist ratio of 2:1 or 3:1.
  • Candidate will work in a large academic hospital with collaboration among anesthesia providers.
  • No on-call duty required.
  • CRNAs do not need DEA licenses.
  • Fellowship training is not required but preferred.
  • Facility trauma level and pediatric specialty level will be relevant to practice profile.
  • Experience with trauma and various specific surgical cases such as neurosurgical, thoracic, and complex orthopedic surgery is preferred.
  • Skills in ventilation management and evaluation of acute volume/BP issues are required.
  • Central line and arterial line placement are essential skills for this role.
