Occupational Health Nurse – LPN​/VN, Corporate

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) / Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to support an onsite Occupational Health clinic serving employees in manufacturing and office environments. Reporting to the Occupational Health Nurse leadership team and working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, this role provides comprehensive health, wellness, safety, and injury management services while supporting employee wellbeing and workplace health initiatives.

The ideal candidate has occupational health or industrial nursing experience, strong clinical judgment, and the ability to balance employee advocacy with organizational health and safety objectives.

• Provide nursing care for occupational and non-occupational illnesses and injuries under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Physician
• Respond to workplace medical emergencies and provide first aid, triage, and follow-up care
• Support injury prevention, treatment, and return-to-work programs
• Administer non-prescription medications in accordance with established protocols
• Participate in Early Symptom Intervention and Management programs
• Assess employee health concerns and coordinate appropriate referrals and resources
• Collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, specialists, nurse case managers, and other healthcare providers

• Document occupational injuries and illnesses accurately and timely
• Manage workers' compensation claim activities and claim status tracking
• Serve as a resource regarding work-related injury cases and return-to-work programs
• Coordinate with claims adjusters, treatment providers, and internal stakeholders
• Review claims documentation for accuracy and regulatory compliance
• Support accommodated-duty and return-to-work initiatives

• Participate in occupational health surveillance programs, including:
  • Hearing Conservation
  • Respiratory Protection
  • Powered Industrial Truck programs
  • Periodic physical examinations
  • Life Saving Rules compliance programs
• Perform drug and alcohol testing in alignment with workplace policies
• Support post-offer health assessments and regulatory compliance programs
• Maintain necessary testing certifications and documentation

• Support employee wellness initiatives and health promotion programs
• Provide education and guidance regarding wellness resources, health programs, and employee assistance services
• Assist employees with access to benefit-related health resources
• Promote a culture of health, safety, and wellbeing throughout the organization

• Maintain confidential medical records in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
• Ensure compliance with occupational health regulations and workplace standards
• Identify opportunities for process improvements, quality enhancements, and cost control
• Participate in safety meetings, committees, and health-related initiatives
• Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and case management records

• Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license in the state of employment
• No history of license suspension, involuntary revocation, or disciplinary actions
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or equivalent CPR/First Aid/AED certification
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in an industrial occupational health environment
• Strong clinical assessment and emergency response skills
• Knowledge of occupational health regulations and workplace health practices
• Strong computer skills, including:
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Electronic medical record systems
  • Documentation systems
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism

• NIOSH-approved Spirometry Certification (or willingness to obtain within the first three months)
• CAOHC-approved Audiometry Certification (or willingness to obtain within the first three months)
• Certification in urine drug screen and breath alcohol collections
• Experience with workers' compensation case management
• Experience supporting manufacturing or industrial work environments
• Active membership in occupational health or nursing professional organizations
