Penn State Hershey Medical Center offers a Summer Nurse Externship for nursing students in their final year. The 10-week program runs May 17–July 24, 2027, with a two-week orientation. The Extern is paired with an RN to perform basic bedside care and select nursing procedures.
Externs gain experience in obstetric/gynecology care, including antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum settings. The center provides Magnet‑designated excellence and strong opportunities for professional growth.
