Regulatory Affairs Specialist for Salty Snacks

This role supports Regulatory Affairs activities for Salty Snacks brands, ensuring compliance with U.S. food regulations across the product lifecycle—from ideation through commercialization and post launch. The position partners cross functionally with R&D, Marketing, Legal, Quality, Supply Chain to deliver compliant ingredients, formulas, labels, claims, and certifications for Salty products.

Main Duties:

  • Provide regulatory compliance support for Salty Snacks brands, including ingredient, recipe, labeling, and claims reviews
  • Execute finished product labeling activities from creation through final packaging approval
  • Review and assess ingredients, additives, flavors, colors, allergens, and processing aids for U.S. regulatory compliance
  • Support claims substantiation (e.g., nutrition, organic, non GMO, vegan, kosher, gluten free, whole grain as applicable)
  • Partner with cross functional teams to support innovation, renovation, and continuous improvement projects
  • Utilize internal systems (SAP-PLM/PDM, labeling and compliance tools, Webcenter/ESKO) to document regulatory decisions and approvals
  • Support responses to internal and external regulatory questions, including consumer and customer inquiries

Skills:

  • U.S. Food Regulatory Knowledge (labeling, allergens, claims, ingredients, additives)
  • Finished Product Labeling, artwork reviews and approvals & Claims Review (end to end execution)
  • Cross Functional Regulatory Support in a fast paced consumer packaged goods environment

Very important soft skills:

  • Attention to detail
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking. Comfortable with ambiguity.
  • Excellent analytical and research skills
  • Excellent communication skills (i.e. verbal, written)
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to self-manage for managing numerous priorities

  • Impeccable ethics and must maintain a high level of confidentiality

Must Haves (i.e., years of experience?):

  • 2–5+ years Regulatory Affairs experience in food companies
  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. food labeling and ingredient regulations
  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Food Regulatory, Biology, Chemistry, or related field
  • Experience supporting cross functional product development teams

Introduction Meetings expected to start from week of May 11st. Video or in-person interviews will be conducted. Introduction Meeting panels will include Daniela Shimokomaki (Hiring Manager) and Kelly McKernan (Senior Specialist Regulatory Salty Snacks) together, and as additional and separate interviews with Nicole Young (CMG Regulatory Manager).
