Overview

The Department of Urology at the Penn State College of Medicine, in Hershey, PA, is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator to support our growing portfolio of clinical research studies (industry and federally funded) and to facilitate data collection and project management plans. The Clinical Research Coordinator will have regular interactions with study investigators and study participants at the Penn State Health Hershey Medical Center Campus.

Responsibilities
  • Manage daily study operations related to the creation and monitoring of regulatory protocols through their approvals/modifications.
  • Develop operating procedures and workflow processes to ensure that the scope and direction of a study project is on schedule.
  • Recruit, screen, schedule, obtain informed consent from, enroll, retain, and compensate participants.
  • Manage data collection and monitor incoming study data for analysis and evaluate consistency; develop study protocols and ensure protocol and regulatory compliance.
  • Manage study budgets; troubleshoot application difficulties; manage datasets and assist with data analyses.
  • Assist the PIs in preparing reports for the sponsor and for publications; assist PIs with grant submissions; coordinate study meetings.
  • Train other staff or students assisting with the project.
Qualifications
  • Minimally requires a Bachelor's Degree and 3+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Familiarity with mobile and internet technology, remote data capture (e.g., REDCap, Qualtrics), Microsoft Office and TEAMS, database management, and statistical software (e.g., R, SAS, SPSS) is required.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills are essential for frequent interaction with research participants, investigators, and staff at multiple locations.
  • Qualitative interviewing and data analysis experience is a plus.

  • This is a 40-hour per week position (Monday-Friday). Evening/weekend hours may be required occasionally.
  • Recruitment will take place in urology practices that treat patients within our health system. Applicant must be comfortable working in clinical research settings.
