Position specifics

The Department of Orthopaedics and Therapy Services at the Penn State College of Medicine in Hershey, PA is seeking a postdoctoral scholar position will join our research team focused on musculoskeletal biology. The qualified candidate will oversee larger research projects.

Requirements
  • The candidate will do Experimental training in preclinical surgical mouse models or clinical research is required.
  • Experience with genetic mouse models, musculoskeletal biology, or retrospective clinical studies is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
  • Perform and manage mouse husbandry and colony maintenance.
  • Conduct mouse surgical procedures using established preclinical models.
  • Harvest tissues and process specimens for downstream analyses.
  • Perform histological tissue processing and staining.
  • Assist with experimental design, data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
  • Maintain accurate laboratory records and ensure compliance with institutional animal care and research regulations.
  • Contribute to manuscript preparation, presentations, and collaborative.
  • The position will focus on larger projects and assist with design, data collection and analysis - the lab's staff members currently are all working on other NIH funded projects.
Education Requirements

A PhD or MD degree in relevant field.
