Our team members are the key ingredient that bring our exceptional food experiences to life. Food Runners work in our food and beverage mobile‑ordering station, going to various food‑service areas to collect, at times prepare food, and bring it to guests’ tables in the Food Hall, ensuring they have a seamless guest experience. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong skills in food prep/presentation, production, service and guest interaction, multitasking, planning, self‑leadership, sense of urgency and the ability to meet or exceed the pace set by leaders.

A

Day in the Life
  • Provide prompt and courteous service to Hershey’s Chocolate World guests in any of our food‑service action stations
  • Partner with the Production team to complete the prep work appropriate for the expected level of business of the food and beverages offered in their stations
  • Deliver food orders:
    Quickly and accurately transport food from the kitchen to customers’ tables
  • Communication:
    Act as the point of contact between the kitchen (Back‑of‑the‑House) and the dining area (Front‑of‑the‑House) staff
  • Customer Interaction:
    Check in with customers to ensure their dining experience is satisfactory and address any additional requests
  • Cleanliness:
    Remove dirty dishes and utensils from tables and maintain a clean dining environment
  • Safety & Presentation Standards:
    Ensure food is served at the proper temperature and presentation in accordance with Hershey’s Chocolate World standards
  • Attention to Detail:
    Ensure orders are delivered correctly and address any special requests, such as food allergies
  • Crafting Presentable Food Orders:
    Quickly and accurately craft food orders from various food stands
  • Responsible for cleaning workstations and equipment according to SOPs and weekly/monthly schedules
  • Complete daily checklists; properly rotate, label, and store prepped food items; monitor hot and cold holding temperatures and perform other food‑safety duties
  • Engage with guests by recommending Hershey’s‑inspired food and beverage items
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the department Manager or manager‑on‑duty, such as assisting with cashiering or stocking/restocking inventory
What You’ll Need
  • Ability to work independently and multitask
  • Ability to carry heavy trays and stand for long hours
  • Must possess (or be able to complete within 6 months) Serv Safe Food Handler certification
  • Friendly, enthusiastic, team‑player attitude
  • Perform skills typical of a food‑service environment such as stocking, prepping, and cleaning
  • Collaborate effectively with F&B Production and F&B Experience Staff
  • Serve food according to SOPs with appropriate packaging
  • Perform bakery and guest‑service skills typical of a kitchen environment (knife skills, attention to detail, read and follow recipes and instructions, etc.)
  • Work at a fast pace for an extended period
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent (preferred but not required)
  • 1 year experience in a high‑volume restaurant, bakery, hotel, or catering operation (preferred but not required)
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Maintain a neat appearance and meet the uniform standards
  • Continuously push, pull, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Walk or stand up to 8 hours
  • Perform repetitive tasks that may require repetitive motions
  • Bend, stoop, twist, and scoop (wrist movement)
  • Good communication skills
  • Function effectively as part of a team
