The Role – Nursery Assistant

As a Nursery Assistant, you will support the delivery of high-quality early years care and education, helping to create a safe, engaging and nurturing environment for children.

Your responsibilities may include:

Supporting planned activities in line with the EYFS framework

Assisting with daily routines, including mealtimes and outdoor play

Encouraging children’s social, emotional and physical development

Maintaining a safe and stimulating learning environment

Supporting key workers and room leaders within the setting

Following safeguarding and health & safety procedures at all times

Each Nursery Assistant role offers valuable experience within supportive nursery teams across Hertfordshire.

Requirements

To be considered for a Nursery Assistant position in Hertfordshire, you should:

Have previous experience working with children (nursery, preschool, school or childcare setting preferred)

Hold a Level 2 or Level 3 childcare qualification (desirable but not essential)

Have a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection

Demonstrate a caring, patient and proactive approach

Have excellent communication and teamwork skills

Be reliable, adaptable and passionate about early years education
