Molly is 9 years old and has Global Developmental Delay, tonic-clonic Epilepsy, and Auditory Neuropathy Spectrum Disorder. She wears bilateral hearing aids and has a food aversion, so mealtimes require creative input. Medication and nutrition are given via PEG. Molly lives with her mum in a pretty Hertfordshire countryside area. She can be anxious with new people; introductions are done slowly and gently.
Molly enjoys imaginative play, visits to local farm parks and soft play, playing with her cat, and baking (supervising or helping). After a bath, Molly’s PEG feed is prepared before bedtime.
Molly has two other team members; on arrival there is a short handover. Depending on the week, you may help her up, dressed and ready with hearing aids, or she may be ready for activities. Weekend days are packed with trips or time at home playing with her family and cat. After activities, Molly may have a PEG feed and quiet time with her mum before bedtime.
A handover is carried out at 20:00 on Sunday to close the weekend.
This could be an ideal role for someone studying or an SEN nanny seeking a weekend position. Molly has medical needs but is energetic and capable. Bring the right attitude, earn Molly’s trust, and you will become a valued member of Team Molly.
Why You’ll Love This RoleExcellent onboarding/training and ongoing supervision from the family’s case manager and team leaders in a supportive environment.
