Early Intervention Specialist - Therapeutic
HOURLY PAY: $/hour plus mileage reimbursement
Positions start as part-time hours (about 20-25 per week); potential to build up to full-time hours - depending on availability and caseload in certain areas
Coverage area:
Hesperia, Apple Valley, Victorville, Adelanto and surrounding areas
Raising a child with a developmental disability is a journey that takes knowledge, love, patience, and support. You will be part of a team that provides in-home early intervention specialized services for infants and toddlers and school-age children and youth where they can naturally learn and develop.
- Plan, schedule and provide weekly early intervention in-home services OR in school settings
* for a caseload of infant/toddlers with disabilities including developmental delays and programs for children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders. - * This specific area works with two age groups:
- School-age range (4 to 21 years old):
Our Specialists work in school settings 1-on-1 with children who have been diagnosed with an intellectual or developmental disability. - OR - Infant-toddler age range (age 0-3 years):
Our Specialists do sessions in-home. The child's parent/guardian is always present for these sessions. - Administer and document all program assessments and updates accurately to meet timelines.
- Design, implement, and adapt activities for language, cognitive, fine and gross motor, sensory, self-help, and social/emotional development, for each individual child, utilizing best practices.
- Model effective adult-child interactions and provide written information on parenting, child development, and provide parents with written weekly activities and effective coaching.
- Monitor, document, and share the child’s progress with the family and team.

Qualifications:
- Education:
- For infant-toddler age position:
Bachelor’s Degree in health/human services-related major required- If you do not have a Bachelor's Degree:
May consider Associate's degree (or equivalent) PLUS 2 years of experience working/volunteering with children - Some coursework in Early Childhood education or Human Development, Psychology, sociology, or related, is required
- If you do not have a Bachelor's Degree:
- For School-age position: High School diploma required
- For infant-toddler age position:
- Experience: One year experience working/volunteering with infants or young children and their parents/guardians
* if candidate has Bachelor's degree, then experience may not be required- For school-age program position: ABA and/or Behavior Management skills/experience/training is highly desired
- License: Valid CA driver’s license in good standing;
- Also must have at least one year of history as a licensed driver (in any US state)
- Vehicle:
Access to a registered vehicle with proof of insurance coverage - Skills/Characteristics:

- Availability: most sessions will be during the day time on the week days, but some flexibility with availability including some evenings and weekend times may be needed
