Spectrum Center Schools and Programs seeks a Permanent Substitute Teacher to support K-12 students with autism, emotional and behavioral challenges, and other special needs in small, structured classrooms. You will deliver standards-based instruction using provided lesson plans, adapt materials for diverse learners, implement IEP goals, and support behavior intervention plans with strong clinical and behavioral teams. Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and families, maintain documentation, and ensure a safe, positive, trauma informed learning environment.
Ongoing training, coaching, and growth opportunities in a mission-driven setting are provided.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily instruction as the classroom teacher of record when assigned
- Implement provided lesson plans and adapt instruction for diverse special-education learners
- Support and implement IEP goals and behavior intervention plans
- Maintain a structured, safe, and positive classroom environment
- Collect data on student progress and behavior and complete required documentation
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and support staff to align student supports
- Communicate professionally with families and district partners as needed
- Use trauma-informed and de-escalation strategies to manage challenging behaviors
- Participate in training, coaching, and professional development
- Support school-wide routines, duties, and a mission-driven school culture
