School Counselor

Spectrum Center Schools and Programs is seeking a School Counselor to support K-12 students with autism, emotional and behavioral challenges, and other special needs. In this role, you will provide individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and social-emotional skill building in a highly specialized, small-class environment. You will collaborate closely with teachers, behavior specialists, related service providers, and families to develop and implement IEP goals, behavior support plans, and transition plans.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling to K-12 students with special needs
• Conduct crisis intervention and support de-escalation when needed
• Develop and implement social-emotional and behavioral interventions
• Collaborate with teachers, behavior specialists, and clinicians on student plans
• Contribute to IEP development, progress monitoring, and documentation
• Partner with families and districts to support student goals and transitions
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences
• Maintain accurate, confidential counseling and progress records
• Deliver classroom lessons or groups on social skills and coping strategies
• Engage in ongoing professional development and training
