2 Joiners needed for refurbishment project work until end of November

About the Role:

You will carry out first and second fix carpentry and joinery tasks to support ongoing construction and refurbishment projects. Working to drawings and site instructions, you’ll help ensure structures are sound and finishes are completed to a high standard within agreed timescales. Your work will directly impact the quality, safety, and appearance of the completed builds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out first fix carpentry, including framing, stud work, joists, door linings, and window installations.
  • Undertake second fix carpentry such as hanging doors, fitting skirting, architraves, and other internal finishes.
  • Read and interpret basic drawings and site instructions to complete tasks accurately.
  • Measure, cut, and install timber and sheet materials using appropriate hand and power tools.
  • Ensure all work is completed to agreed quality standards and within project deadlines.
  • Work safely on site, following health and safety procedures and maintaining a tidy work area.
  • Liaise with site supervisors and other trades to coordinate work and resolve minor issues.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a joiner/carpenter carrying out first and second fix work on site.
  • Competent in the use of standard carpentry hand tools and power tools.
  • Ability to work from basic drawings and follow verbal instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on producing neat, accurate finishes.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to maintain productivity without close supervision.
  • Good awareness of site health and safety practices.

Desirable

Skills:

  • Experience working on both residential and commercial projects.
  • Ability to adapt to changing site priorities and tasks.
  • Experience working within multi-trade teams on active construction sites.

Qualifications:

  • Recognised qualification in carpentry/joinery (e.g. NVQ Level 2 or equivalent) preferred.
  • Valid CSCS card or equivalent site safety certification desirable.
  • Evidence of relevant apprenticeship or formal trade training advantageous.
