Service Shop Foreman

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Service Shop Foreman to join our dealership team. As a Service Shop Foreman, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our service department's shop floor. You will lead a team of technicians to ensure efficient and high-quality service delivery while maintaining a strong focus on customer satisfaction and profitability.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of automotive technicians, ensuring adherence to dealership standards and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Assign work orders and prioritize repair jobs based on urgency and complexity.
  • Provide guidance, training, and performance feedback to technicians to enhance their skills and productivity.
Quality Assurance
  • Conduct quality inspections of completed repairs to ensure they meet dealership and manufacturer standards.
  • Identify and address any issues or concerns related to work quality, ensuring customer satisfaction and minimizing comebacks.
  • Implement processes and procedures to enhance quality control and reduce errors.
Workflow Management
  • Manage the flow of vehicles through the service department, ensuring efficient use of resources and timely completion of repairs.
  • Coordinate with service advisors and parts department staff to ensure availability of necessary parts and accessories for repair jobs.
  • Monitor progress on repair orders and address any delays or bottlenecks to keep the workflow on track.
Technical Expertise
  • Serve as a technical resource for technicians, providing guidance and assistance with complex diagnostic and repair tasks.
  • Stay updated on the latest automotive technologies, tools, and diagnostic equipment to ensure the service department remains competitive and efficient.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as needed, collaborating with technicians and manufacturer representatives as necessary.
Safety and Compliance
  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and dealership policies.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections of shop equipment and facilities, addressing any issues promptly.
  • Promote a culture of safety awareness and accountability among shop personnel.
Customer Service
  • Interact with customers as needed to address inquiries, provide updates on repair status, and ensure a positive service experience.
  • Handle escalated customer concerns or complaints, working to resolve issues promptly and to the customer's satisfaction.
  • Foster a customer‑centric mindset among shop personnel, emphasizing the importance of quality service and professionalism.
