Participates in the operation of a warehouse and related compound. Receives, stores, issues and salvages parts, supplies, materials, equipment and tools in an orderly fashion.

Responsibilities- Receives, stores, issues, records parts, supplies, materials and tools in and out of the warehouse via barcode system.
- Prepares computer based receiving reports and records items received; reviews purchase orders to ascertain that items are properly received; records information concisely, accurately, and completely.
- Inspects goods received as to quality and quantity in compliance with established standards; accepts and records returns of defective materials.
- Assists in the disposal of scrap.
- Counts and marks inventory items and maintains a revolving inventory on all items in the warehouse; inputs data in computer and with scanner, as needed.
- Operates equipment necessary to handling and storing materials (e. g. , forklift).
- Meets with vendors, as needed. Performs routine building maintenance, as needed.
- Understand and adhere to established control procedures, such as proper authorization of expenditures. Immediately report any suspected control deficiencies or fraudulent activities to supervisors or through established whistleblowing channels.
High School Diploma/GED required.

Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; outside weather conditions; extreme cold and extreme heat.
WorkEnvironment
This position is part of New Smyrna Beach Utilities Emergency Management Team and, as such, shall be expected to perform all duties that are assigned during an emergency management operation. Any additional compensation, above the normal weekly salary shall be outlined in the Human Resources Manual or Collective Bargaining Agreement. Failure to appear to perform emergency management assignment and to work assigned shifts as scheduled by NSBU’s Emergency Incident Commander or individuals designated by the General Manager/CEO to assign such functions may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.
