Purchasing Specialist

The purchasing specialist will research and purchase products for PERC Water Corporation. Responsible for ensuring that Purchase Orders are raised and approved, goods and services are received in a complete, accurate and timely manner. The Purchasing Officer is expected to liaise with suppliers across the business to align the purchasing process with company objectives and overall business strategy.

Main Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Conducting product research and sourcing new suppliers and vendors.
  • Sourcing materials, goods, products, and services and negotiating the best or most cost-effective contracts and deals.
  • Establishing and maintaining professional relationships with clients as well as vendors and suppliers.
  • Working with PERC Water construction and O&M teams to continue the transition to a centralized procurement system.
  • Raise Purchase Orders in line with the company procurement policy and maintaining ethical standards and applicable laws/regulations.
  • Ensure Purchase Orders are approved in line with the company policy.
  • Attain acknowledgement of orders including updating and maintaining records of all orders.
  • Coordinate with finance team regarding discrepancies in invoices, delivery notes and goods received records.
  • Willingness to attend industry trade shows, product exhibitions, supplier visits and conferences to maintain current understanding of new products and trends.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Drive continuous improvements through cost saving, alternative sources and process enhancements across the Purchasing process.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Strong understanding of Purchasing principles and processes.
  • Experience with Purchasing systems (preferred).
  • Analytical and have ability to solve purchasing & delivery related problems.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Proactive, highly motivated and flexible.
  • Highly organized.
  • Experienced with MS Office including Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook.
  • Integrity and adherence to ethical procurement practices.
  • Team player with ability to coordinate across functional areas.
Education and Experience:
  • Experience in procurement would be advantageous.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement, Finance or related Field or experience would be preferred.
