UESI is seeking a Dive Supervisor to support the dive teams in its Fort Pierce, FL office. The dive supervisor must possess the proper ADCI supervisor certification card and be knowledgeable in all diving techniques, procedures, emergency protocols, and operational parameters for the diving operations under their supervision.
Responsibilities- Ensure compliance with government regulations, company safe practices, and manuals governing the dive operation.
- Maintain knowledge of life‑support and ancillary equipment used in the operations.
- Control and be available to implement emergency procedures while on duty.
- Coordinate with all parties involved in the dive—masters, pilots, harbor masters, installation managers—to inform them that underwater operations will be undertaken.
- Verify dive location is safe, and develop or modify pre‑ and post‑dive checklists.
- Implement emergency/contingency plans and be aware of medical support procedures.
- Ensure a two‑way communication system is available at the dive location.
- Facilitate a Job Hazard Analysis, establish a dive plan, and allocate necessary supplies and equipment.
- Assign duties to dive team members and direct them throughout the operation while ensuring each is qualified and physically able.
- Maintain depth, bottom time, and breathing mix profiles for each diver.
- Ensure continuous tending of each diver in the water.
- Terminate the dive when:
- The diver requests termination.
- Communication is lost between the diver and the dive team, or between the vessel operator and the supervisor during live boating operations.
- The diver begins to use their reserve breathing gas supply.
- Weather or site conditions degrade to a point that jeopardizes diver safety.
- Assess diver physical condition through visual observation and verbal questioning.
- Maintain and submit required reports to the employer and regulatory bodies regarding diving operations, equipment maintenance, testing, or repair. Review and sign diver logs.
- Maintain a supervisor’s logbook of all dives and medical treatments supervised.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, to liaise with personnel from diverse backgrounds.
- ADCI Accredited Commercial Diving Diploma and successful completion of the ADCI supervisor exam. Must be medically certified as "fit to dive." Valid CPR, First Aid, O2, and BBP certifications.
- High school graduate or equivalent and at least 18 years old.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean MVR.
- Reading, writing, and comprehension of English.
- Basic computer skills:
Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and Microsoft Teams. - Ability to stand for approximately 3 hours per day up to 8 hours.
- Ability to traverse uneven construction sites with elevation changes up to 19 inches.
- Ability to wear required PPE (hard hats, safety vests, work boots, and eye/face protection).
- Ability to lift equipment up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in confined spaces defined by OSHA Construction Standards 29
CFR 1926. - Ability to use respirators or SCBA breathing apparatus.
