Are you a "take-charge" producer with a vision for remarkable television? FOX 35 Orlando is looking for a rock-star News Producer who thrives on the adrenaline of breaking news and storytelling. We don't just want someone to fill a rundown; we want a creative powerhouse who can own big stories and elevate every segment they touch.
What You’ll Do- Execute the Vision: Responsible for the daily production of newscasts, from crafting the initial rundown to making split-second editorial decisions in the control room.
- Master the Craft: Write compelling scripts, log/edit video, coordinate graphics, and ensure a superior command of broadcast grammar and style.
- Lead the Booth: Provide clear direction via IFB to anchors and field crews, maintaining a calm, assertive presence under the pressure of live television.
- Collaborate & Create: Work closely with Executive Producers, the assignment desk, and digital teams to ensure seamless coverage across all platforms.
- Drive Innovation: Think outside the box to find new, visually engaging ways to present information to our Central Florida audience.
- Experience: 2-3 years of experience as a newscast producer in a medium to major television market.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field.
- Skills: Expert news judgment, aggressive coverage instincts, and the ability to remain "calm in the storm."
- Tech Savvy: Familiarity with newsroom computer systems and video editing for script inclusion.
Ability to work varied hours, including weekends and holidays, to cover the news whenever it breaks.
