Pharmacy Customer Associate II

Shift: Monday – Friday; 11:30am – 8:00pm EST

Location:

On‑site with opportunity to transition to hybrid. Alternate locations may be considered for candidates residing within commuting distance.

Responsibilities
  • Respond to moderately complex customer questions via telephone and written correspondence regarding pharmacy retail and mail order prescriptions.
  • Maintain positive customer relations and coordinate with internal functions to ensure timely resolution of customer requests.
  • Interact with internal and external customers (e.g., subscribers, providers, benefit administrators, physician offices, third‑party representatives) to provide claims, customer service, and membership support.
  • Handle client issues regarding insurance benefits, member eligibility, provider contracts, claims, and related information.
  • Adjudicate claims through Pharmacy Benefit Managers, accurately read, interpret, and troubleshoot both paid and rejected claims.
  • Conduct research to provide proactive, thorough solutions and interpret medical and pharmacy benefit plans, including copays, coinsurance, deductibles, out‑of‑pocket maximums, and coordination of benefits.
  • Own service requests to ensure high‑quality resolution and follow‑through.
  • Support and guide customers on their personal options and decisions, helping them become knowledgeable and confident about using available technology, tools, and resources.
  • Multi‑task across calls, texts, faxes, and electronic queues while taking notes and communicating effectively.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent and minimum of 1year of experience in an automated customer service environment, or equivalent education and experience.
  • General knowledge of pharmacy services, products, insurance benefits, contracts, and claims preferred.
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Problem‑solving, facilitation, and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to read and interpret prescription medication, including dosing and units based on day‑supply requirements.
  • Attention to detail and ability to analyze complex information accurately.
  • Proficiency with digital tools and platforms to enhance productivity.
