WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

A highly motivated college student familiar with Grammy U and its programmes, engaged and active on campus. You should have a pulse on the music scene as well as awareness of the interests of local Grammy U members. Comfortable speaking in front of large groups and on camera, organised, and able to follow through on projects from beginning to end. We are looking for big ideas and the confidence needed to implement them.

WHAT

YOU'LL DO

The Grammy U Representative works with the local Recording Academy Chapter, the Grammy U National Team, Community Advocates and Grammy U Ambassadors on student and non‑student membership recruitment and retention initiatives, as well as programme development, marketing and implementation. Applicants must adhere to the Code of Conduct set forth by the Recording Academy.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Membership Recruitment and Retention – develop strategies to maintain a vital student membership base across local campuses and non‑student membership across local communities.
  • Leadership – lead and supervise Grammy U Ambassadors by facilitating meetings and initiatives. Organise, market and execute approved local programmes for Grammy U members in collaboration with local Chapter staff, the Grammy U National Team, Ambassadors and all members.
  • Academy and Student/Non‑Student Representative – advocate for the Recording Academy, disseminate important information and announcements via social media. Advocate for member and campus/community needs, keeping the Academy informed of next‑generation membership.
  • Chapter Involvement – serve as part of the Chapter team, working closely with Chapter staff and the Grammy U National Team. Attend the local Chapter’s monthly Board Meeting to provide updates on Grammy U and share insights.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
  • Current Grammy U member; prior experience attending or volunteering at Grammy U programmes.
  • Open to individuals enrolled in a 2‑ or 4‑year university with at least two semesters before graduation, or to graduate students.
  • Effective public speaking and on‑camera communication.
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Attention to detail, strong organisational, time‑management and follow‑up skills.
  • Ability to lead peers and organise volunteer efforts.
  • Full‑time student pursuing a career in music, available for a 20‑hour workweek.
  • Dedicated workspace and functional computer; mobile device capability.
  • Occasional nights and weekend hours may be required.
  • Plus:
    Writing, social media, video/photo editing and design, event production, multilingual experience.
  • Strong grammar, punctuation and basic mathematical skills.
  • Excellent people skills; ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral or computer‑based form.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The role occasionally requires standing, walking and sitting for long periods, working at a computer for long periods, and lifting up to 60 pounds.
