Description:Serving Hands CDC is seeking passionate and committed volunteers to serve as Youth Mentors in our 3C Chess Mentoring Program.
We work with youth ages 8–17, using chess as a tool to teach critical thinking, discipline, decision-making, and life skills
. Our goal is to empower young people to succeed both in school and in life.
As a mentor, you will build meaningful relationships while helping shape the next generation of leaders.
What You’ll Do:- Mentor and support youth in a structured group setting
- Assist with teaching basic to intermediate chess (training provided)
- Encourage positive behavior, focus, and confidence
- Support life skills discussions and activities
- Help create a safe, engaging, and uplifting environment
We provide basic chess instruction and mentoring guidance. What matters most is your consistency, patience, and heart for youth

Flexible weekday and/or weekend opportunities available
(After-school and program-based hours)
Ideal Volunteers:- College students (education, social work, criminal justice, etc.)
- Retired professionals
- Community and faith-based volunteers
- Anyone passionate about youth development
