At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We're working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight!

This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

At Blue Origin, we are building a road to space so our children can build the future. As part of this mission, the Pneumatic Systems Fabrication Manager will lead fabrication and field installation of pneumatic and fluid systems supporting Ground Support Equipment (GSE), launch pad infrastructure, and test operations.

This role is responsible for leading multidisciplinary teams executing high-reliability work in support of cryogenic and high-pressure systems (including LOX/LH2 installations). You will drive safe, efficient execution of fabrication and installation activities while partnering closely with engineering, test, and launch teams to deliver mission-critical systems.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop teams of fluids technicians, pneumatic panel builders, structural assembly personnel, and orbital tube welders supporting GSE fabrication and launch site installations.
  • Oversee fabrication, assembly, and installation of pneumatic and fluid systems, including control panels, valve skids, and distribution systems supporting LOX, LH2, GN2, and other ground systems.
  • Interpret and execute work from P&IDs, schematics, and layout drawings; ensure accurate installation of valves, regulators, tubing, and air logic components.
  • Plan and execute field installations and modifications at the launch site and test facilities, ensuring compliance with engineering requirements, schedules, and safety protocols.
  • Lead troubleshooting and commissioning activities, including system checkout, leak detection, and functional validation of pneumatic and fluid systems.
  • Drive daily manufacturing and field execution, including production planning, labor management, and coordination with site operations.
  • Ensure strict adherence to environmental, health, and safety (EHS) standards, particularly for hazardous and cryogenic systems.
  • Partner with engineering, quality, and supply chain to resolve technical issues, improve system design, and implement Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) improvements.
  • Monitor and report on execution metrics including safety, quality, delivery, and cost; take corrective action as needed.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance fabrication quality, installation efficiency, and system reliability.
  • Support new system bring-up, upgrades, and rapid turnaround efforts in support of launch and test campaigns.
  • Manage staffing, training, and development of team members; build a high-performance culture focused on accountability and mission success.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 1-3+ years of experience leading teams in aerospace, industrial gas, energy, or other high-reliability manufacturing/field environments.
  • 3-5+ years of hands‑on experience with pneumatic and/or fluid systems, including panel fabrication, tubing, and system installation.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret P&IDs, isometric drawings, and complex schematics.
  • Experience working with high‑pressure gas systems and/or cryogenic systems (LOX, LH2, GN2, etc.).
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Manufacturing, Aerospace, or equivalent practical experience (including military experience).
  • Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate across engineering, operations, and test teams.
  • Experience with standard business and manufacturing tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, ERP/MRP systems).
  • Proven ability to use data and metrics to drive execution and continuous improvement.
Desired
  • Direct experience supporting launch site operations, GSE systems, or test stand infrastructure.
