Position: Specialist, EH&S Generalist (Onsite)

As an EH&S Generalist, you will collaborate with site EH&S and Operations to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements. You will support Collins Aerospace standards, implement high‑risk control programs, and oversee environmental and safety initiatives in a complex manufacturing environment.

What You Will Do
  • Understand and interpret EH&S regulations, laws, and RTX requirements.
  • Provide advice, support, and technical guidance on environmental and safety opportunities.
  • Maintain awareness of regulatory changes to keep company policies and training current.
  • Develop and administer EH&S plans and procedures, including program management.
  • Participate in, and lead, incident response, investigation, and reporting activities.
  • Assist with accident investigations, reporting, and regulatory compliance programs.
  • Identify EH&S hazards, perform risk assessments, and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct EH&S inspections, analyze audit findings, and develop corrective actions to maintain safe work practices.
  • Manage applicable federal, state, and local regulations and company programs (LOTO, electrical safety, machine guarding, elevated work, confined space, industrial hygiene, risk assessment, respiratory protection).
  • Oversee environmental programs such as RCRA waste management, SPCC/SWPP, EPCRA TierII reporting, and storm water management.
  • Perform visual inspections of waste equipment, and ensure proper containment, labeling, and disposal of hazardous wastes.
  • Conduct RCRA and SAA inspections according to regulatory requirements.
  • Operate barrel‑lifting machines, truck equipment, forklift, and drum carts safely.
  • Operate in a fast‑paced manufacturing setting with continuous improvement focus.
  • Maintain and improve EH&S documentation and software systems.
Qualifications
  • University degree with a minimum of 5years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 3years of experience.
  • Advanced degree in Environmental, Health & Safety preferred.
  • RCRA and DOT training certification.
  • Powered industrial vehicle certification (electric pallet jack, electric lift truck).
  • Proficient in MSOffice suite.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Capability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple tasks.
