• Active Class C or higher Water and Wastewater Operator License issued by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.
• Valid driver’s license.
• One or more years of experience.

The Water/Wastewater Operator operates and maintains water treatment facilities at one or more plants, processes, and tests equipment to purify water and meet permit and operational requirements. The Operator troubleshoots and diagnoses operational problems and takes corrective action per procedure and process knowledge. This includes monitoring flow meters, gauges, flow ratios, pressures, and related controls through instrument panels and programmable logic control units.

The Operator records operating conditions, observations, and data in shift logs, ensures conformance to process specifications, verifies and reports suspected malfunctions and variances to a supervisor, performs routine and preventative maintenance, and performs field laboratory tests in order to pace chemical dosages for efficient process control. All safety and environmental requirements are consistently met, including strict compliance.
