This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. FTT will require proof of status prior to employment.
ResponsibilitiesGeneral
Job Summary:
Designs and analyzes aircraft electrical, mechanical, propulsion, and component structures, systems and processes.
Essential Job Functions:
- Use computer-aided design (CAD) to produce initial design and specifications for gas turbine/rotating machinery components.
- Conduct feasibility studies and testing on new and modified aircraft system designs.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure design integrity from concept to development.
- Document changes through a formal engineering change notification process.
- Participate in design reviews, solving complex and analytical problems.
- Define test requirements and analyze data for engine builds and testing.

QualificationsExperience
- Experience with Computer Aided Design (CAD) software, specifically Siemens NX.
- Exposure to turbo machinery including airfoils, disks, and shafts.
- Practical understanding of manufacturing processes and experience with Design for Manufacturing (DFM).
- Ability to create a design layout, assign component tolerances, and perform tolerance stacks.
- Able to trade component material options based on material properties and component application.
- Ability to make technical presentations internally and to customers. Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Communicates and interacts effectively with peers, supervisors, and the public, including maintaining respect for others and following company policies.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Education and Experience
- BS/MS in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering
- 3+ years of related experience
- Office and/or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to perform repetitive motions (keyboard, mouse, phones, rotating wrist, using tools/equipment).
