Job Description:

  • The Phlebotomist II Float serves as the face of the organization to patients and is responsible for performing blood specimen collection and processing in a safe, accurate, and professional manner.
  • This role creates a positive patient experience by building trust, explaining procedures clearly, and maintaining confidentiality.
  • The position may support a doctor s office, patient service center, or multiple locations based on business needs.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform daily phlebotomy activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment at all times.
  • Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing according to established procedures.
  • Verify patient demographic information and obtain patient initials or signature following venipuncture to ensure proper specimen labeling.
  • Prepare specimens for laboratory testing following standard protocols.
  • Maintain accurate records and required documentation.
  • Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
  • Provide patient-focused care while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy of patient information.
  • Support multiple locations as required by business needs.
Requirement/Must Have:
  • Ability to provide high-quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
  • Strong phlebotomy skills including pediatric and geriatric collections.
  • Flexible availability including weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call coverage.
  • Reliable transportation with a valid driver s license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to travel and cover multiple locations with minimal notice.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
Experience:
  • Three years of phlebotomy experience required, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
  • Customer service experience preferred.
  • Keyboard and data entry experience required.
Qualification And Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred and required in certain states.
