Position Summary
Demonstrates excellent customer service attitude while assisting the Nurse managers and other nursing staff in coordinating the administrative activities and patient care delivery on the nursing units. Responsible for ensuring a professional atmosphere in the nursing unit. Demonstrates good public relations skills during interaction with physicians, patients, visitors, and other hospital staff. Greets, directs, and gives non-professional factual information to patients and personnel from other departments.
Critical to success of patient and physician satisfaction.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Required Licensures/CertificationsAHA Heart Saver (BLS)
Skills and AbilitiesMust be able to change priorities and appropriately while maintaining professional demeanor, especially during emergencies and/or stressful situation. Good oral and written communication skills in the English language. Medical terminology.
ExperiencePrevious experience as a unit secretary in a hospital or physician office preferred or satisfactory completion of unit secretary training program.
