The CT Technologist must hold all certifications and licenses related to their scope of practice. They must handle a high volume, fast‑paced environment with a pleasant disposition. Responsibilities include maintaining quality control records, ACR accreditation forms, and daily logs for modality specific areas; proficient use of computer software (PACS, eRad, Athena Clinical and Communicator); obtaining a detailed history for each exam;

performing special procedures and biopsies daily; multi‑tasking with attention to detail; responding to communication from the manager; following all safety protocols to ensure patient and equipment safety; and other duties as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs examinations in accordance with established operating procedures and routines accurately and in a timely manner; is responsible for imaging, recording, and processing images.
  • Obtains and documents a complete patient history related to the procedure ordered; obtains informed consent per departmental policy.
  • Maintains effective communication with patients and provides explanations of procedures within scope of practice.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of occurrence reporting (patient case) in Athena and reports potential patient safety issues.
  • Maintains proactive communication with the radiologist regarding unusual clinical findings, history, test results, and implications.
  • Ensures physician order for procedure is entered accurately and consults resources to clarify unfamiliar or questionable orders.
  • Optimizes use of supplies, equipment, and services to maintain high quality of care at lowest cost, actively seeking ways to control costs without compromising safety or quality.
  • Ensures orders match diagnosis to enable proper reimbursement for services.
  • Demonstrates a patient‑first approach, introduces self and role, and acts as a patient advocate to keep the best interests of the patient at the forefront.
  • Willingly assists co‑workers to achieve goals and acts as a resource to co‑workers as appropriate.
  • Actively participates in staff meetings and in‑services.
  • Assumes personal responsibility for professional development and promotes development of self and others through professional organization participation, educational opportunities, etc.
  • Acts as an "ambassador" for MPG by promoting a professional and positive image of the organization’s capabilities and services to the public.
Certificates, Licenses & Registrations

State of Florida Radiologic Technologist, BLS, RT(R), RT(CT), or exam pass within one year of start date.

Education and/or Experience

Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two‑year college or accredited radiologic school; six months to one year of related experience and/or training (preferred); or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
