Pharmacy Buyer, Full Time, Day Shifts
Responsible for the procurement function of the department. Responsible for the efficient, accurate and timely ordering, receiving, and controlling inventories for all pharmaceuticals and supplies used or issued by the Pharmacy department. Assists in the preparation, packaging, delivering, and charging of medication orders, under the supervision of the pharmacist. Prepares and delivers IV sterile products. Involved with Pharmacy quality assurance activities and assists the pharmacists in performing various duties.
Reports to the Director of Pharmacy.
Key responsibilities include placing daily vendor orders for pharmaceuticals in a timely manner, reviewing and checking accuracy of all orders and requisitions, reporting price discrepancies to the Director of Pharmacy, coordinating all product returns with wholesaler or vendors, reviewing backorders and arranging purchase from alternate vendors, responding appropriately to requests for STAT orders, routine orders, and departmental requisitions, and ADC stock out bulletins, accurately re-stocking ADCs in a timely manner, preparing sterile IV preparations in an accurate manner consistent with IV policies and procedures, assisting in preparing for physical inventory, maintaining stock items at established levels to avoid out of stock and adheres to contracts and formulary requirements, maintaining proper records of purchase orders, returns, outdated meds, recall meds, catalogs and inter-hospital transfers, processing pharmaceutical invoices and other billing receipts or purchase orders and forwarding to the Director of Pharmacy for signature and approvals in a timely manner, completing assigned monthly inspections, ensuring medication integrity, documenting appropriately, maintaining Quality Assurance logs with proper timely documentation and files in appropriate location;
notifying Supervisor of any deviations from standards, and seeking cost savings opportunities and identifying purchasing areas of improvement.

Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
Previous hospital pharmacy experience preferred. Software/Hardware:
Basic computer skills required. Proficiency in Microsoft applications. License/Certification:
Current Florida Registered Pharmacy Technician licensure required. Pharmacy Technician certification or equivalent IV experience required.
