Our Client is seeking an Atlassian Administrator for a fully-remote, extendable 7-month Contract position. This position pays $40-56/hr w2 depending on skill level.

Summary:

Client is seeking a seasoned Atlassian Administrator to lead the configuration, management, and optimization of our Atlassian Cloud suite—including Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket. This role plays a key part in enabling team collaboration, development workflows, and enterprise project delivery. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, strong communication skills, and a passion for improving internal tools and processes that power our organization.

Responsibilities:

Atlassian Platform Administration

• Administer and manage Atlassian Cloud as well as Data Center products to ensure performance, stability, and availability
• Configure custom workflows, permission schemes, issue types, screens, and automation rules to meet evolving team needs
• Maintain user and group permissions across projects, spaces, and repositories

User Support & Enablement

• Provide timely support and training for users across multiple departments
• Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting
• Promote best practices and drive adoption of Atlassian tools across the organization

Performance Monitoring & Troubleshooting

• Monitor system usage and performance; identify and resolve issues proactively
• Analyze usage trends to identify improvement opportunities and enhance tool efficiency

Migration & Integration

• Lead and execute the migration of Atlassian instances to the Cloud with minimal user disruption
• Plan data migration strategies, coordinate timelines, and manage stakeholder expectations
• Integrate Atlassian tools with third-party systems and internal applications

Governance & Optimization

• Stay current with Atlassian product updates, plug-ins, and evolving best practices
• Evaluate and recommend new add-ons, configurations, or approaches to improve scalability and governance
• Enforce platform standards and security compliance as aligned with enterprise IT policies

Required Skills:

• 6+ years of hands-on experience administering Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket in both Cloud and Data Center environments.
• Proven experience leading Atlassian Cloud migrations.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to interface directly with end users and cross-functional teams.
• Demonstrated ability to design efficient workflows and permission schemes.
• Experience in using third-party tools like Script Runner, eazy
  
  Bi, and Jira Service Management Assets.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, agile, and cross-functional environments.
• Atlassian certifications (ACP-100, ACP-120, etc.) are a strong plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Pay for this position is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. As a contractor you may also be eligible for health benefits such as health, dental, and vision as well as access to a 401K plan.
