Systems Administrator – Niceville, Florida

K ’s National Security Solutions team provides high‑end engineering and advanced technology solutions to our customers in the intelligence and national security communities. This role focuses on systems administration support for the Test Resource Management Center’s (TRMC) All Domain Test Range (ADTR) and several secure network nodes, including the INDOPACOM Pacific‑Rim Multi‑Domain Training and Experimentation Capability Team, Joint Mission Environment Test Capability (JMETC) Secret Network (JSN) Node, JMETC Multiple Independent Levels of Security Network (JMN) Node, Secret Defense Research and Engineering Network (SDREN), and Defense Research and Engineering Network (DREN).

The Systems Administrator will evaluate customer requirements, provide solutions, and keep the testing environment operational and compliant with TRMC directives and RMF requirements, working closely with distributed team members on system status and future enhancements.

Responsibilities
  • Administration of computer systems hardware, network gear, software, information systems & peripheral equipment such as servers, desktops, zero clients, storage devices, and virtualization infrastructure.
  • Install, support, upgrade, and configure systems (Windows/Linux/VMware/SQL Server, Horizon UAG, VDI).
  • Maintain security and recovery procedures such as patching, applying STIGs, and performing backups of systems.
  • Administer infrastructure including servers, zero clients, malware protection software, HBSS, syslog servers, databases, ACAS, etc.
  • Upgrade systems and processes as needed for enhanced functionality and/or security issue resolution.
  • Identify potential risks or inefficiencies associated with system configuration and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with data security policies, relevant legal and regulatory requirements, and TRMC cyber security program implementation plans following TRMC directives and applicable RMF requirements.
  • Author and/or review team standard operating procedure (SOP) documentation to ensure consistent systems configuration and knowledge transfer to other team members.
Required Qualifications
  • Active Top Secret clearance.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a Systems Administrator role.
  • Technical bachelor’s degree (experience may substitute for degree).
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20%.
  • Strong background in the setup, configuration, and maintenance of virtualization environments – VMware preferred (VxRail, vSphere, vDS, NSX).
  • Strong Windows skills (Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, Web Application Proxy, ADFS, PKI).
  • Strong Linux skills (Docker, Containers, Kubernetes, RHEL, Satellite, scripting, Ansible playbooks).
  • Strong documentation skills (writing SOPs, creating networking diagrams).
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure – Horizon, UAG, provisioning and maintaining VM pools.
  • Solid understanding and experience supporting zero clients.
  • Experience supporting systems within a DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) accredited environment.
  • Experience with SIEM tools (Splunk, Solar Winds, etc.).
  • Coordination, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Layer 2/3 networking experience and firewall experience.
  • DoD 8570 certifications (Security+, CISSP, Computing Environment).
  • Experience working with DoD Wide Area Networks and familiar with various network architectures and common protocols.
  • Experience with DREN and SDREN.
  • EPO (Trellix) experience – policy, agent updates, compliance dashboards.
  • ACAS experience – scanning, reporting, compliance dashboards.
