Plant Operations Director
Freedom Square of Seminole, an upscale senior living community in Seminole, Florida, is seeking a Plant Operations Director to oversee all aspects of plant operations, maintenance, and facilities performance.
Responsibilities- Implement systems and controls to achieve financial performance as established by the department budget, including annual budgeting and capital spending plans (average $5‑6 M per year).
- Develop financial forecasts and actively participate in monthly profit/loss review meetings.
- Plan and implement operations for the plant team and vendors to maintain property, equipment, grounds, and other assets in an acceptable state of repair.
- Ensure that apartment maintenance requests are handled promptly and courteously through the TELS system.
- Develop plans to provide and maintain a quality facility for the interior and exterior of buildings, roads, grounds, tools, and equipment, achieving a safe, sanitary, and healthy environment for residents and staff.
- Assure compliance of all services and programs with federal, state, and local laws and statutes.
- Plan and initiate staff training in emergency preparedness, life safety, personal protective equipment, OSHA‑mandated training, and other required training, and monitor infection control guidelines.
- Develop established emergency policies and procedures for the team to follow.
- Review and analyze quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to determine causes of non‑conformity with product specifications and operating or production problems.
- Manage apartment and condo renovation projects for upscale senior living, handling timelines with outside contractors.
- At least five years of plant engineering and/or trade experience (plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, refrigeration, ground maintenance, masonry, or maintenance) with three years of supervisory experience.
- Previous experience in healthcare and/or with an elderly population preferred; knowledge in fire safety and MSDS training also preferred.
- Outstanding customer service skills with a senior population, focused on meeting and exceeding expectations.
