As our People Operations Manager, you will own the systems and workflows that support our people and internal operations. Your work will directly impact team performance, employee experience, and leadership focus. Success in this role is measured by clarity of systems, smooth execution, team stability, and how effectively leadership time is protected.
Key Responsibilities Human Resources & People Operations- Build and maintain a scalable new‑hire onboarding process, including Day 1, Week 1, and 30‑60‑90 workflows
- Own in‑house recruiting operations, including resume screening, headhunting, and managing the interview process
- Support onboarding and payroll setup across 4+ U.S. states
- Support employee lifecycle management, including onboarding, promotions, and exits, in partnership with leadership
- Run weekly employee accountability systems, monitoring time tracking, task completion, and work delivery
- Monitor and support employee satisfaction initiatives
- Plan team retreats, appreciation initiatives, and internal engagement efforts
- Manage monthly Slack culture initiatives and contests
- Manage client feedback systems and response workflows
- Act as backup to the Guest Experience function as needed
- Serve as second line of defense for client escalations prior to leadership involvement
- Troubleshoot internal technology, software, and workflow issues
- Perform light administrative financial checks, including monthly AR review in Canopy and credit card receipt tracking
- Improve and document SOPs across people and operational workflows
Track basic operational data and reporting - Continuously remove work from leadership through systems, process improvements, and ownership
- Actively protect leadership time through effective triage and execution
- Independently manage recruiting, onboarding, and accountability systems
- Proactively identify and resolve people or process issues before escalation
- Communicate clearly, consistently, and professionally with team members and leadership
- Execute quickly in a fast‑moving environment without constant oversight
- Continuously improve systems as the firm scales
- 3+ years of experience in People Operations, Operations, or Chief of Staff‑type roles
- Experience in a fast‑paced, founder‑led environment (startup, agency, or professional services)
- Direct ownership of end‑to‑end recruiting, including 20+ full‑cycle hires
- Proven experience building onboarding systems from scratch, including 30‑60‑90 frameworks
- Experience managing employee accountability systems (time tracking, task management, work delivery)
- Experience supporting payroll and onboarding across 2+ U.S. states
- Experience supporting performance management, promotions, and exits in partnership with leadership
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized, systems‑oriented, and execution‑focused
- Demonstrated ability to protect leadership time and operate with high ownership
