Job Summary
Plans and directs general accounting functions within finance department by performing the below duties, personally or through subordinate supervision. Supervises and coordinates activities of accounting staff to ensure appropriate controls and reliability/accuracy of information reported. Primary accounting support for various cross-functional matters impacting the financial reporting / controls including, but not limited to, manufacturing, inventory, purchasing, customer service, and payroll. Responsibilities include the preparation of financial statements, maintaining accounting general ledger system, assisting with interim and/or year-end financial audits, and supporting business planning as needed.
Responsibilities- Supervise and assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements.
- Oversee the preparation of various operational and management reports as required
- Direct the maintenance of the general and subsidiary ledgers, fixed assets, and depreciation systems.
- Oversee the AP team to ensure accurate and timely dealing with any issues outside of normal invoice matching process – e.g. PPV, IPV tracking, manual approvals etc.
- Assist Controller with continued improvement to internal control structure
- Assist Controller in the preparation of internal/external audit matters
- Direct and assist accounting staff personnel as necessary to achieve department goals
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required
- CPA is strongly preferred
- 5-10 years related experience, 3-5 years in a supervisory role
- Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (USGAAP and/or IFRS)
- Experience with integrated ERPs (Oracle a plus)
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel

- Problems are typically solved through drawing from prior experience and analysis of issues
- Manages a team typically comprising of intermediate-level professionals and entry level professionals
- Leads, directs and reviews the work of team members in order to accomplish operational plans and results
- Typically has hiring, firing, promotion, and reward authority within own area, in accordance with manager review and approval
- Requires practical knowledge in leading and managing the execution of processes, projects and tactics within one job area
- Typically has advanced knowledge and skills within a specific technical or professional discipline with understanding of the impact of work on other areas of the organization
- Typically has a bachelor's degree or equivalent professional certification and 5 years of prior relevant experience
