PositionSummary
Lid Works is seeking a Tooling Technician to join our Engineering Team. This role is responsible for tooling installation and changeovers, maintenance, inventory control, and supporting both production and prototype activities.
Key Responsibilities- Review tool setup sheets and verify all required tooling components before installation
- Evaluate die sets and production lines before installation and startup
- Perform tooling installations and equipment adjustments across all production lines
- Conduct line assessments, troubleshooting, and debugging before scheduled production startup
- Adjust tooling according to specifications and complete installation sign-offs
- Support production during post‑changeover startups to ensure products meet quality standards
- Complete Tool Change Acceptance documentation
- Perform general tooling maintenance, inspections, and assembly setups
- Maintain inventory of wear parts, hardware, and shop supplies
- Provide off‑shift tooling support and monitoring as needed
- Collaborate with Engineering on tooling reviews, documentation, and continuous improvement efforts
- Maintain cleanliness and proper operating conditions in the machine shop and tool room
- High school diploma required
- Trade school certification in Tool & Die or Machine Tool Technology preferred
- Basic computer skills (email, Word, Excel) required
- Experience using measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.) required
- Experience with T/F tooling is a plus
- Machine shop experience is a plus
