Description
Join our team as a Quality Control Technician – Level 2, where you’ll play a key role in ensuring the quality and consistency of our ready‑mix concrete products. In this position, you’ll work both at plant sites and job locations, performing critical testing and supporting production to meet customer specifications and industry standards.
What You’ll Do:- Perform quality control testing on concrete and aggregates, including slump, air content, unit weight, and compressive strength
- Monitor production and delivery performance to ensure consistent product quality
- Coordinate with plant and dispatch teams to implement necessary quality adjustments
- Conduct trial batches and evaluate mix designs ahead of project needs
- Oversee and collaborate with third‑party testing services
- Maintain accurate testing records and documentation
- Ensure compliance with NRMCA Plant Certification requirements
- Maintain lab equipment and work areas to industry standards
- Uphold all safety and environmental policies
- Deliver professional, customer‑focused service at all times
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma required;
Associate's degree preferred. - Working computer knowledge; including applicable Microsoft software.
- Current, valid state driver's license.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- ACI Concrete Field Tech Level I certification required.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a quality control.
- Ability to understand, interpret, and use construction specifications and concrete mix designs.
- General knowledge of the properties, characteristics, and performance of concrete mixes, its components, additives, and raw materials.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to accurately understand, analyze, and interpret information.
- Proficiency in reading, understanding, speaking, writing, and using the English language.
- Ability to accurately perform basic mathematical functions including adding, subtracting, multiplication, division, percentage calculations and basic area and volume calculations using fractions, decimal equivalents or whole numbers, and basic area, volume, unit weight, and total weight calculations.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to accept and follow direction as provided by managers, and ask questions when needed.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
