Position Overview
An Assembler is responsible for production assembly of molded plastic parts, operating machines to perform a specific machining process, recording process control data, interpreting blueprints, and using measurement tools. The role requires following prescribed routines and operating machines and tools independently.
Essential Functions- Operate machinery to produce molded plastic parts.
- Select programs, change fixtures, and run machines.
- Record process control data and interpret blueprint tolerances.
- Use measurement tools, start-up and shut-down equipment, and operate tools independently.
- Perform routine tasks such as deburring, gauging, and preparing container tickets.
- Work in a team environment, following directions and reading work instructions.
- Use hand tools, scales, and other equipment such as assembly presses and drill presses.
- Stand or sit for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs with assistance as needed.
- Handle chemicals and operate in a manufacturing area requiring PPE.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Basic reading, writing, math and English communication skills.
- Mechanical inclination, manual dexterity and ability to use hand tools and machinery.
- Ability to follow written instructions and complete tasks independently after training.
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
The position is located in a manufacturing environment that requires the use of PPE such as safety glasses, shoes, and hearing protection. Work may involve temperature variations, ergonomic issues, burns, bruises, cuts, heavy lifting, fumes, slippery floors, machine hazards, chemicals, and other typical industrial conditions.
Pay Range$18.00 - $21.57 per hour.
