About the Opportunity
We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Stuart, FL. In this role, the Manufacturing Engineer will play a key role in developing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to ensure the production of high-quality aerospace components. This position requires a strong understanding of precision machining, aerospace industry standards, and continuous improvement methodologies.
LocationStuart, FL Onsite. 2nd Shift Monday to Friday 3:15 PM to 11:45 PM
Responsibilities- Design, implement, and improve manufacturing processes to meet production goals, quality standards, and cost targets.
- Create and optimize CNC programs for milling, turning and other machining operations.
- Develop tooling and fixture designs to enhance machining efficiency and precision.
- Provide hands‑on support to machinist and operators for troubleshooting and resolving production issues.
- Collaborate with other MFG Engineers to ensure manufacturability and adherence to specifications.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for quality or process‑related issues.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and lead initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
- Utilize lean manufacturing and Kaizen methodologies to drive efficiency and process control.
- Prepare and maintain detailed manufacturing work instructions, routings, and process documentation.
- Ensure compliance with aerospace industry standards, including AS9100 and NADCAP.
- Participate in audits and ensure adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage manufacturing projects from concept to completion, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
- Coordinate with cross‑functional teams, including production, quality, and procurement, to achieve project goals.
- Evaluate and recommend new tooling, equipment, and technologies to improve machining capabilities.
- Bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering
- 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or aerospace machining environment
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full‑time basis without sponsorship now or in the future.
- Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.
- Proficiency in CNC machining, programming, and set up.
- Knowledge of GD&T and aerospace standards.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software – preferably Siemens NX.
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems.
- Excellent communication skills and project management skills.
- Work is performed in a climate‑controlled, well lit, and reasonably clean aerospace manufacturing environment. Noise levels are generally below 80 decibels.
- Most work is performed on the shop floor in a manufacturing environment with required PPE.
- Role involves standing, walking, climbing stairs, and moving around equipment during daily activities.
- May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, or lifting items up to 25 pounds.
- Work requires use of hands and arms to handle and manipulate parts, tools, and equipment.
- Tasks include a blend of hands‑on activities with parts, tools, and equipment, and technical work such as reviewing data and using computer‑based systems.
- Frequent interaction and communication with production teams, supply chain, and customers in a dynamic environment.
- Extended periods of focus and attention to detail may be required when working on technical projects.
