As a Lead Mechanic, you will serve as a working lead and be responsible for leading the day-to-day functions of the department. You'll be supporting production flow, team coordination, and hands-on component maintenance from induction through final release.
What you'll do:
- Support daily production flow, and shift coordination.
- Lead daily stand-ups and represent the cell in production and cross-functional meetings.
- Monitor training progress, maintain skills matrices, and support employee development.
- Review timesheets, labor utilization, and production performance metrics.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, COPQ reduction, and corrective actions.
- Coordinate with Engineering and support teams to resolve technical and workflow issues.
- Oversee preventive maintenance and calibration activities to ensure compliance.
- Perform component induction, documentation review, and AD/mod status verification.
- Disassemble, inspect, repair, assemble, and document components in accordance with technical specifications.
- Apply maintenance manuals, technical data, blueprints, and support test cell operations as needed.
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of aircraft maintenance experience performing induction, disassembly, inspection, and assembly in a production, maintenance, repair, or overhaul (MRO) environment.
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to sit or stand for at least 50% of shift.
Desired Skills
- Experience using production, ERP, or MRO systems to document labor hours, materials, and work instructions.
- Strong communication and team collaboration skills.
- Experience training or mentoring mechanics.
