Ali Cat Rescue, Inc. is a very small, not‑for‑profit kitten and cat rescue located in Wellington. We have no paid employees. We do not have a brick and mortar building and rely on volunteer fosters to house and care for our kittens and cats. We predominately specialize in kittens from newborn age on up.
ACR has three cat cages in the Pet Supermarket 7201 Lake Worth Rd, Lake Worth 33463. We house approx. 4-6 cats and kittens at a time in the store. The cats rely on our volunteers to feed them, clean their cage & letterboxes and play time with you in our mini cat room.
This opportunity is suitable for adults, parent/child duo (8 years and older) and teens that live close to the pet store. It involves some bending and light lifting. The care of our cats will take you approximately two hours. Additional community service time is given for transportation to and from the store. You are welcome to stay as long as you want.
We are looking for individuals that will commit to a minimum of 3 months at a time.
This is a cleaning job. As a volunteer you will be responsible for keeping the cages clean, changing bedding, scooping litter and/or cleaning litter boxes as needed, cleaning food and water bowls, feeding and playing with the cats.
We have two volunteer spots open per day and have to provide volunteers 7 days a week including holidays.
Currently we have these shifts open:
- Morning shift approximate start time: 9:00‑10:00am (time is flexible)
- Evening shift approximate start time: 4:30‑6:30pm (time is flexible)
Fill in help for all shifts needed. Please submit form because we get cancellations frequently.
All individuals 17 and under are required to be accompanied by an adult that will participate and help. If no adult is available to accompany you, then you will be paired with another volunteer adult which may limit your ability to volunteer. All volunteers must have reliable transportation and the ability to receive text messages.
All volunteers need to be responsible and show up to their committed day/shift.
Lack of communication, frequent cancellations or no-shows will result in the loss of your volunteer position.
Please do not apply if you do not want to help.
PLEASE GIVE YOUR PHONE NUMBER WHEN CONTACTING US SO WE CAN REACH YOU.
Our cats rely on our volunteers to eat, so reliability is a big factor in volunteering for us. If you don't show up to care for the cats, they don't eat!
