Job DescriptionParticipates in peer interviewing and review processes. Considers factors related to safety, effectiveness, cost, and impact on practice in the delivery of nursing services. Collects comprehensive data pertinent to the patient’s health and unit‑specific data for process improvement initiatives. Conducts initial patient assessments within expected time frames, initiates consults as indicated, and identifies patient/family teaching and discharge planning needs. Maintains safe practices by demonstrating unit‑specific clinical competency and compliance with all regulatory standards.
Knowledge,Skills, and Abilities
- Proficient clinical critical care skills and critical thinking skills with strong communication skills required.
- Basic computer skills and commitment to hourly patient rounding required.
- Previous EKG Interpretation Class preferred.
- Must possess frequent independent judgment and the ability to handle clinical situations requiring sound professional judgment and critical‑thinking skills, including clinical assessment, data analysis, and patient response.
- Responsible for providing quality patient care and continuously prioritizing multiple duties.
- Ability to function calmly and professionally during stressful situations.
- Utilization of assessment, reassessment, and critical‑thinking skills in dealing with changes in patient outcomes.
- General knowledge of professional nursing principles and techniques, as well as the pharmacological process in the appropriate administration or delivery of medications.
- Skill to maintain effective working relationships with health professionals and others to foster an environment conducive to carrying out the mission of the facility.
- Skill to communicate effectively, both verbally and written, to direct the overall professional nursing services in a manner that encourages the open exchange of ideas and information.
- Associate's of Nursing [Required]
- Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]
- 1+ years acute care experience [Preferred]
- Registered Nurse (RN) [Required]
- Basic Life Support – CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS) Preferred
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support Cert (PALS) [Preferred]
- Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) [Preferred]
Physical Requirements –
Pay Range$31.53 – $52.24
