Take on a vital role in a dynamic teaching hospital environment, providing expert perioperative nursing care in the Operating Room. This contract opportunity requires a registered nurse with exceptional skills and significant direct experience in liver, heart, lung, and kidney transplant surgeries, including proficiency with Misonix/CUSA equipment. The role centers on complex transplant cases candidates must demonstrate in-depth procedural experience with organ implantation and not solely organ harvesting.
ScheduleDetails
- Day shifts: 4x10-hour (06:45 17:15), guaranteed 40 hours per week
- Liver call required; may assist in additional cases as needed
- On-call: 1 shift/week plus two 12-hour weekend shifts/month (further details at interview)
- Floating within scope expected to meet facility needs
- Active RN license (pending license accepted)
- Minimum two years of direct Operating Room experience with a focus on liver and transplant surgeries
- Documented proficiency with Misonix/CUSA
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications (at submission); NIHSS required prior to start
- Demonstrated experience with complete organ implantation in transplant patients
- Ability to complete time-sensitive onboarding modules promptly
- All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted up front; late requests likely will not be approved
- Must be nicotine-free and able to pass a negative nicotine and 10-panel drug screen
- Deliver comprehensive perioperative care for complex transplant cases
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary transplant teams
- Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC charting
- Ensure strict adherence to safety and infection protocols
- Participate in ongoing education and training initiatives
- Work within a prestigious teaching hospital
