This part-time seasonal position with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission's Division of Freshwater Fisheries Management assists with freshwater fishery monitoring and management activities in North Central Florida. The role focuses on conducting creel surveys (interviewing anglers), field work, data entry, and equipment operation, with an average of 20-25 hours per week and flexibility for 10-12 hour field days as needed.
Keyqualifications:
- High school diploma and two years of post-high school experience in wildlife, fisheries, environmental, ecological or related agriculture or construction
- Valid State of Florida driver's license
- Must be 18 years old and have passed or pass an approved boater safety course upon hiring
- Ability to independently operate boats, motors and trailers
- Ability to understand and follow technical instructions relating to sampling and evaluation of freshwater fisheries
- Experience operating motorboats and trailering (preferred)
