Position: Sr Tech, Product Quality Assurance (Onsite) - 1st Shift

Position Overview

The Quality Assurance Technician plays a key role in ensuring product and process quality at Collins Aerospace by supporting and maintaining Quality Management System (QMS) requirements, providing real‑time quality support on the production floor, conducting audits and process evaluations, and partnering with Quality Engineers to address non‑conforming material, corrective actions, and product containment.

Melbourne, Florida (US‑FL).

What You’ll Do
  • Perform product and process audits, including Process Walks (LPAs), Surveillance, and Certifications.
  • Enforce quality policies and procedures to maintain product integrity.
  • Support operator and inspector skill development through hands‑on training and coaching.
  • Coordinate suspect product containment and corrective actions with Quality Engineers.
  • Identify quality trends and lead Sherlock Investigations to support Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA).
  • Manage the flow of non‑conforming materials (NCMs) in accordance with site procedures.
  • Create and deliver Quality Alerts to communicate quality‑related changes impacting the production floor.
  • Collaborate effectively across teams and communicate clearly at all levels.
Additional Core Responsibilities

Opportunities may include building or enhancing systems, developing and implementing training programs, supporting site‑wide or company‑wide initiatives, and contributing to QMS policy updates.

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or AA/AS degree (or equivalent 2‑year post‑high school training). Minimum 4years of relevant experience.
  • Working knowledge of hand tools and measuring equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, customer specifications, purchase orders, and written and verbal instructions.
  • Proven ability to define problems, collect and analyze data, establish facts, and draw sound conclusions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills with the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to all levels of audiences.
  • Demonstrated success working with cross‑functional teams.
  • Experience leading projects or initiatives from start to finish.
Salary and Relocation

Salary range: USD
43,400–82,600. Position may be eligible for relocation.
