Alto Walden Woods is hiring a Part-Time Cook to join our culinary team. With consistent afternoon hours ending at 6:30pm — Tuesday through Saturday — this is a great cooking opportunity for someone who wants meaningful work without late nights or unpredictable restaurant schedules.
What You'll Do:- Prepare and cook nutritious, quality meals for residents who look forward to every dish
- Follow approved menus and recipes while maintaining food safety and sanitation standards
- Keep the kitchen clean, organized, and running efficiently throughout your shift
- Work collaboratively with the dining team to deliver smooth, timely meal service
- Be a dependable, skilled presence in a well-run kitchen
- Prior cooking experience — preferred
- Strong attention to food quality, safety, and kitchen organization
- Dependable, hardworking, and a strong team player
- Comfortable working consistent afternoon hours
- No certifications required

The primary responsibility of the Cook is to prepare food of the highest quality and taste for residents and guests of the Community ensuring that the food presentation enhances the dining experience of the residents and guests.
Areas of Responsibility- Prepare delicious and attractive food that is colorful and tastefully presented making each meal service an exceptional occasion.
- Supervise the kitchen under the direction of the Dining Services Director (DSD) and Chef/Lead Cook.
- Prepare high quality meals consistent with local customs and tastes. Consistently adhere to the standard recipes, the budgeted costs and Company policies.
- Supervise and/or assist in the proper washing of all dishes, cookware, flatware, and utensils. Properly maintain all kitchen equipment. Monitor water temperatures and/or chemical compounds as appropriate to ensure the prevention of foodborne illness and the spread of communicable disease.
- Approach residents and associates in a friendly, service-oriented manner.

- Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be flexible/adaptable, pay attention to detail, and have a sense of teamwork.
- Must possess good time management skills and a keen awareness of safety.
- Must possess current manager’s level food handler permit.
- Must have positive Criminal Background Screening.
- The Community is a drug free workplace; associates are subject to adherence to the Company Drug Free Workplace policy.
- Minimum one (1) year related cooking experience or equivalent preferred.
- Some software and computer skills preferred.
