Server Assistant

Summary: Provides support and assists the Server by delivering upscale food and beverage service in a team-oriented, high volume, fast-paced environment. Greets and establishes a rapport with members/guests by delivering an exceptional dining experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Performs related set-up tasks.
• Attends daily pre-shift meeting and makes note of specials &/or menu changes.
• Assists Servers by providing support with food and beverage service.
• Clears dishes, glasses, and utensils from tables between course and at the end of the meal.
• Cleans, sanitizes and resets tables at conclusion of each meal to prepare for next guests.
• Supports Servers with entering details into the JONAS POS system.
• Assists with serving all courses of meal presentations by delivering outstanding service, in a friendly, attentive manner that exceeds the members and guests’ expectations.
• Pours and refills coffee, water and/or other beverages served with and after the meal.
• Garnishes and decorates dishes prior to serving.
• Assists Servers with coordinating the timing of courses throughout the dining experience.
• Observes guests to anticipate needs and to respond to any additional requests.
• Assists in closing functions by performing various tasks such as removing linen, bussing glasses, dishes, silverware, and other side work.
• Takes directives from Captains and Management.
• Adheres to all Club food and beverage handling safety and sanitation policies and procedural training.

Education and/or

Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language

Skills:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical

Skills:

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability:Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
