Job SummaryOur associates at Red, White, and Blue Thrift perform a range of tasks and processes essential to our retail operations. These positions require attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to work in a fast‑paced environment. The roles are full-time, and medical benefits become available after 90 days of employment. Brief descriptions of our positions can be found below.
Facilities AssociatesOur Facilities Associates may be assigned to the following tasks:
- Unloading and loading trailers
- Operating a trash compactor
- Operating a baling machine
- Janitorial duties
- Labor intensive tasks
Our Production Associates may be assigned to the following tasks:
- Pre‑sorting donations
- Sorting
- Pricing
- Hanging
- Tagging
- Attaching sensors
- Distributing merchandise to the floor
Our Sales Floor Associates may be assigned to the following roles:
- Cashier
- Sales Floor
- Donation Center Attendant
- Box Truck Driver
- Dispatcher
- Supervisor
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous thrift, retail, warehouse, back‑of‑house, or customer‑facing experience is preferred, but not required
- Ability to safely perform job functions in accordance with ADA, FMLA, and other standards, including meeting both qualitative and quantitative productivity requirements.
- Physical strength: must be able to occasionally lift and carry up to 40–70 lbs, frequently exert up to 25 lbs of force, and constantly apply negligible force when handling objects.
- Endurance: able to stand for extended periods.
- Manual dexterity: proficient in performing repetitive motions such as extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction and working primarily with fingers.
- Fine motor skills: skilled in tasks involving seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with hand(s).
- Balance and agility: capable of maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces, and maintaining balance during agile tasks.
- Visual acuity: vision of 20/20 at 20 inches or less and 20/20 at 20 feet or more.
- Atmosphere: work environment is dynamic and consistently busy; must thrive in fast‑paced environment.
- Noise level: work environment is noisy; must work effectively in noisy environment.
- Lighting: bright lighting throughout; must work effectively in bright environment.
- Interactions with others: regular interactions with customers, donors, coworkers; must have effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility: high degree of flexibility; may be asked to switch tasks or departments; must work in all areas as assigned.
- Employees are not required to communicate exclusively in English, but may need to understand written and spoken English for instructions and communication with customers, donors, colleagues, and supervisors.
