Position Title: Mechanic I

Location: Tamarac, FL

Reports To: Operations Manager

Department: Operations

Pay Rate: $26.25–$29.00/hr

Vehicle Maintenance:

• Conduct DOT Inspections
• Perform preventive maintenance
• Repair engine, transmissions, chassis, brakes, electrical systems, and fuel systems
• Test drive vehicle

Computer

Skills:

• Initiate, populate, and close repair orders
• Conduct vehicle diagnostics systems

Vehicle Body Repair:

• Perform daily vehicle inspections
• Fabrication

Equipment Inspection:

• Inspect compressed natural gas (CNG) fuel systems (hoses, connectors, odor, hissing)
• Inspect gasoline fueling station for safe working condition or defects (damage to equipment, tanks, hoses, connections, leaks, electrical, pumps, wiring)
• Conduct DOT safety inspections

• Effective communication – verbal & written

• Must complete pre‑employment drug test, background check, and physical ability test

• No high school diploma required
• Previous warehouse/distribution center experience preferred but not required
• Minimum 2 years of experience working in a maintenance shop environment
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a mechanical field
• Minimum 2 years of experience working with fleet/diesel trucks

• Tuesday - Saturday 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Off Sunday & Monday)
• 40 hours per week
• 0% travel

• Heavy lifting up to 100 lbs., bending, prolonged standing and walking
• Working safely with chemicals

• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Basic knowledge of Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides)

• Valid Florida driver’s license
• OSHA 608/609 certification
• ASE certification and/or mechanical repair trade school certificate
