Salary Range: $30.00 To $35.00 Hourly
NM Residential is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fire Alarm Technician to oversee fire alarm systems across our portfolio of nine residential properties in Florida. This role involves programming and servicing fire alarm panels, managing inspections and documentation, and ensuring full compliance with NFPA 72 and Florida fire safety codes.
Key Responsibilities- Program, test, and maintain fire alarm systems and control panels (e.g., Notifier by Honeywell)
- Design or upgrade alarm system layouts based on code requirements and property needs
- Manage inspection schedules, documentation, and compliance tracking
- Conduct system troubleshooting and repairs
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring schematics, and technical documents
- Collaborate with property managers, vendors, and fire marshals (AHJs)
- Lead system-related projects and ensure work meets NEC and NFPA standards
- Maintain accurate service records and reports for all properties
- Education:
High school diploma or GED required - Certifications:
NICET Level III or IV in Fire Alarm Systems preferred; FASA/BASA certification required in Florida - Experience:
Minimum of 5 years in fire alarm systems installation, programming, and maintenance - Strong understanding of NFPA 72 and applicable codes
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lead field projects and supervise system servicing
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools and electrical testing equipment
- Technical understanding of low-voltage systems and panel programming
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple service sites
- Must have reliable transportation and be able to travel between multiple properties
- Must provide and maintain personal tools necessary to perform job duties
Full-time schedule with travel required between multiple Florida properties.
