Mobile Diesel Technician Level II – DOT Management Level – Individual Contributor

Remote work possible; must reside in specified city, state, or region.
Hourly base rate: $32.07 - $48.13 per hour. Hourly rate may vary within the anticipated range based on location and qualifications.
Additional compensation may include commission (annual, monthly), incentive programs, and a $2,500 New Hire Bonus (50% after 30 days and 50% after 180 days).

Work Schedule & TravelShift: Monday through Friday – Variable Shift.
Travel: 100% of the time.

Key Responsibilities- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow‑up repairs on light, medium, and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
- Execute minor adjustments and repairs on truck equipment, including electrical, brake, cooling systems, starters, alternators, fan clutches, engine electronics, diesel steering systems, engines (gas and diesel), transmissions (manual and automatic), clutches, and differentials.
- Diagnose, adjust, and repair various truck equipment components, including electrical systems, brakes, cooling systems, air conditioning, fan clutches, engine electronics, diesel steering, engines, transmissions, clutches, and differentials.
- Inspect, test, and use diagnostic instruments (handheld computers, pressure gauges); road‑test vehicles to ensure proper function.
- Identify problems, evaluate alternatives, and generate solutions using sound judgment.
- Independently manage parts inventory, reconcile supplies, and maintain company‑issued service truck, including pre‑ and post‑trip inspections.
- Prepare and submit DOT forms and all other required documentation promptly.
- Use hand tools, precision instruments, diesel tools, welding equipment, lifts, and jacks as needed.
- Document work using company iOS device and TRAIT application; upload photos of work performed and parts used.
- Maintain safety compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and company policies.
- Communicate with management and support team via email or phone for repair estimates, purchase orders, and report notes.
High School Diploma or GED and at least 3 years of related experience (or 5 years working toward an equivalent degree/certification). Ability to obtain and maintain a valid state driver’s license and Driver Qualification File.
Must be at least 21 years old and have a valid DOT medical card with at least 4 months remaining, or be able to complete a DOT physical.
Must pass a DOT‑regulated pre‑employment background check and a DOT physical (or provide a qualifying medical card).
Required Certifications- ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months of hire.

Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to analyze information for current and future decisions.
Physical ability to lift, bend, climb, stand, and walk for extended periods and perform moderate heavy labor.
Effective communication skills (oral and written) and ability to engage in two‑way communication with individuals and groups.
Capability to determine need for tools and equipment and judge distances accurately.
Logical reasoning to identify strengths, weaknesses, and alternative approaches to problems.
